ABOUT US

Enjoying the company of dogs is a family affair.   My parents raised us with weimeraners; a terrific breed for active kids.  My grandparents had airedales and poodles.  I attended my first dog show with my father when I was six and it left quite an impression.

I had the pleasure of experiencing many dogs growing up, but without a doubt the sweetest and smartest dog I have ever known was my black brindle dog, Ian.  Ian was tragically killed in an accident during my last year of college.  To help console the loss, my family offered to acquire a puppy of any breed for me after graduation.  I spent six months thoroughly researching purebred dogs to find just the right fit.  The home work paid off and Ridgebacks proved to be "it".

Ian

I obtained my first Ridgeback just prior to starting

graduate school.  Rapidan Ramnes Iron Liege,

better known as Hektor, was named for the 1957

Kentucky Derby winner.  Hektor achieved titles and

National rankings in Obedience,  Lure Coursing and

Agility.  He was also certified in Herding, Therapy

work and was Temperament tested.  For all of these

 achievements, Hektor earned his Versatility

Certificate from the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of

 the United States.

Another addition to the household is Ivan, Globe's Daredevil of Lyonvelt, named for the Marvel comic book hero.  Related by way of Hektor's sister Amy, who was exported to Ireland, Ivan is just as talented as Hektor, and is another Ramnes high achiever.  Ivan is successful not only in the show ring, but also in multiple performance venues.  Ivan also earned his Versatility Certificate from RRCUS.

I am likewise fortunate to co-own Morgan, Globe's Reign Maker Lyonvelt; named for her notable grandsire, Globe Ca-Abi Reign On Teaser.   Morgan is a gorgeous Ridgeback with an engaging personality.  She exhibits her keen prey drive on the lure coursing field and is an absolute joy to live with.

Ivan's son Logan, Ramnes Unreal Zeal is our pride and joy. Logan was bred by Aegis Ridgebacks in Oregon and is now enjoying life in the sunny South where he is putting his talents to work like his accomplished father.

Recently we diversified from Hounds to the Non-Sporting group with the addition of Bruce, Floresta Ramnes Riddle Me This, a French Bulldog.  Bruce LOVES to show and has achieved many nice wins in conformation as a young dog.  He is now working on adding titles to the end of his name.
